We were tasked with reimagining their website as a modern, user-centric experience one that simplifies navigation, structures a vast content library, and makes book discovery feel natural. All while staying true to the brand readers have trusted for generations.

Users struggled to navigate a sprawling collection of books across languages, subjects, and age groups without clear categorisation or intuitive pathways. The experience wasn't designed for today's reader, who expects speed, clarity, and seamless browsing across devices. The challenge was to bring order to complexity without losing the richness of what Sakal offers.

We took a deep dive into how readers actually interact with a publishing platform mapping user journeys, auditing the existing architecture, and identifying where the experience was losing people. From there, we redesigned the site with intention: a restructured information hierarchy, a smarter cataloguing system, and a visual language that feels contemporary without abandoning Sakal's authoritative voice.
Every decision was grounded in usability from how books are filtered and surfaced, to how the experience adapts across mobile, tablet, and desktop. We also refined the brand touchpoints across the platform, ensuring consistency that builds trust at every scroll.

Sakal's colour system was built to do two things simultaneously honour a brand with deep institutional recognition, and feel at home in a modern digital environment. Every colour has a role, and every ratio has a reason.

From the first wireframe to the final pixel, we owned the complete design process. Our work spanned UX research and journey mapping, information architecture, UI design, and content systems all working in concert to produce an experience that feels effortless to the reader.
The result is a platform that handles the complexity of a vast multilingual catalogue behind the scenes, while presenting users with a clean, intuitive interface in the foreground in both Marathi and English, across every device they choose to read on.
