Pune’s craft brewery scene had grown quickly, but it had also become predictable industrial interiors, exposed ducts, chalkboard menus, all inspired by the same global aesthetic. When Babylon Craft Brewery entered the market as the largest brewery in Maharashtra and the only one in Kothrud, scale alone wasn’t enough to stand out. What it needed was its own world - a brand identity built on story, depth, and meaning that competitors couldn’t replicate by copying the look. That’s what we were brought in to create.

Challenge & Objective

Pune’s craft brewery scene had become predictable, with most brands competing on the same ideas. For Babylon, the challenge wasn’t awareness but identity - creating a brewery that felt different. The goal was to build a strong brand world with a unique theme, visual distinction, and a story that shaped every experience.

Cultural Symbolism

The Lion of Babylon is an ancient Babylonian symbol that is associated with the Mesmopotamian goddess Inanna, the goddess of fertility, love, and war. Meant not only to
symbolize Babylon but to instill fear in enemies, it seems fitting that a single stone lion, albeit poorly preserved, is the only true remainder of Babylon that stands in Iraq today.
The Lion of Babylon symbolically represented the King of Babylon. The depiction is based on the Mesopotamian lion, which used to roam in the region. The lion featured as the dexter supporter on the coat of arms of Iraq from 1932-1959.

Egyptian Theme

Egyptian Theme

The overall theme of the restaurant is based on an Egyptian theme. In their interiors as soon as you enter the space you will see different types of creatives which represent Egypt.
As already mentioned about the relationship between Babylon Craft Brewery and Egypt, we have depicted the Egyptian theme through their interior design, menu cards, staff uniform, etc. One such example of a creative brand design is represented through the marketing collateral given below.

Menu card

Menu card

To bring consistency to the overall theme, the design of the menu card is also on similar lines i.e., the Egyptian theme. We have used the creative of Heset, the goddess of food and drink on the menu. In Egypt, there are different types of deities that represent different things/concepts such as love, sun, moon, etc. Hence, on the Menu card creative, we have used God which is related to food, drink, nature, etc.
